Asma Ibrahim

Asma Ibrahim is a Belgian resident, currently living in the University Town of Louvain-La-Neuve. Originally from Palestine, Asma has dedicated her career to seeing the full realisation of human rights everywhere, and she hopes to witness freedom and peace for her country.

Asma has two master’s degrees in Business with a specialty in Finance and Management from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium and has worked for over twenty years with several international non-profit human rights organisations. Aside from her role as the Head of Finance and Administration for Protection International (PI), Asma is also a member PI’s Management Team for the Global Team. Before joining PI, Asma worked for over a year within the European Office of the International Commission of Jurists. She also worked over eight years as the Head of Finance and Administration at the Red Cross’ European Union Office.

In 2021, Asma joined the doctoral program at the LouRim (Louvain Research Institute in Management and Organizations, Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium). She aims to conduct PhD research on the emergence of management control systems in international non-profits in order to improve their operations as they grow in size and influence. She is passionate about building systems that are more effective in order to better care for the people that work in this important sector, which has a ripple effect on the impact of organisational work.
