Sobre el proyecto:

Protection International lanzó con gran éxito la exposición fotográfica « For Those Who Died Trying » sobre asesinatos de defensores de derechos humanos y desaparición forzada". El proyecto busca recordar a aquellos que murieron defendiendo los derechos humanos y protegiendo el medio ambiente, ubicando una fotografia del defensor/a, en la medida de lo posible, en el lugar exacto donde fue asesinado o secuestrado.

El proyecto que presentó las fotografías de 37 asesinados o secuestrados defensores de derechos humanos en Tailandia tomadas por el fotógrafo británico Luke Dugglebly en el norte, sur y noreste de Tailandia. La música que acompaña al proyecto es una composición del músico canadiense Frank Horvat

Protection International inaguró la exposición en la Place des Nation de Ginebra el 9 de mayo del 2016 coincidiendo con el examen periódico universal de las Naciones Unidas sobre Tailandia. Este proyecto fue copatrocinado por el SIDA y la exposición en Tailandia fue apoyada por el Gobierno Canadiense.

    Thailand, the official residence of H.E. Ms Donica Pottie ambassador of Canada to the Kingdom of Thailand

    Selected pieces of "For Those Who Died Trying" are featured at the official residence of H.E. the ambassador of Canada in Thailand for the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender violence” campaign and Canada's National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

    The photos were displayed during a lunch for women human rights defenders event to mark International Human Rights Day on Thursday, December 8th, 2016 at the official residence of the ambassador of Canada.
