Every day around the world Human Rights Defenders are exposed to political violence. They protect others despite their own security.
We are Human Rights Defenders working with Human Rights Defenders.
We work through Protection International whose founders have over 25 year experience both in Human Rights and in field protection of Human Rights Defenders.
Protection International aims at the due legitimate and legal protection of Human Rights Defenders.

We are a network of Human Rights Defenders . We have over 25 years experience in the fields of human rights, humanitarian law and protection of Human Rights Defenders and vulnerable groups. We have been providing security trainings to Human Rights Defenders in 20 countries, among others DR Congo, Uganda, Guatemala, Colombia, Brazil, Peru.

Human rights defenders are key actors in the rule of law, the struggle against impunity and the establishment of democracy in any society. They sometimes have to work clandestinely, often at the risk of their own lives and “off the radar” of mainstream media. 2009 has been another very challenging year for human rights defenders. Unfortunately, the number of cases of harassment, threats, forced disappearances and assassinations remained very high over these twelve months.

Report on the Annual Accounts for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2009 of the A.I.S.B.L Protection International.
With the modification of its statuts published on 18th December 2007 by Moniteur Belge (Belgium official journal), the former European Office of Peace Brigades International became Protection International. All figures are provided in EURO.
