To mark International Women’s Day, Protection International pays tribute to women around the world fighting to defend their rights and the rights of their communities to achieve a more just future.
We are proud of the women struggling peacefully to highlight and combat violence, the crimes committed during armed conflict, sexual violence, impunity and LGBTI rights. Struggling to defend their culture, their identity, their territory – they are women organised within social movements and trade unions, they are farmers, journalists, academics, etc., who face risks, discrimination and criminalisation, and in many cases, so do their families, because of their defence of human rights.
Their conviction, dignity and strength to face great obstacles makes them Women Human Rights Defenders.
Con motivo del Dia International de la Mujer, Protection International quiere rendir homenaje a las mujeres que en todo el mundo luchan por la defensa de sus derechos y los derechos de sus comunidades, para conseguir un futuro mas justo.
Estamos orgullosos de las mujeres que luchan de manera pacífica para visibilizar y combatir la violencia de género, los crímenes cometidos durante los conflictos armados, la violencia sexual, la impunidad, los derechos LGBTI. Luchan por defender su cultura, su identidad, su territorio. Son mujeres organizadas dentro de movimientos sociales, sindicatos; son campesinas, periodistas, academicas etc que se enfrentan a los riesgos, la discriminación, la criminalización que su lucha conlleva para ellas, y en muchos casos para sus familias, por defender los derechos humanos.
Su convicción, su dignidad y su fuerza para enfrentarse a grandes obstáculos convierte estas mujeres en Defensoras de Derechos Humanos.
Desde Protection International les felicitamos por su valor, su labor, su perseverancia y sus logros. Es un gran honor para PI, haber apoyado y poder seguir apoyando a algunas de ellas en su camino para conseguir sociedades mas justas.
