Esteemed friends and partners of Protection International,

I am thrilled to announce that I have joined Protection International Africa (PIA) as the new Regional Director. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I joined PIA as a Protection and Advocacy officer in 2021 and grew to serve as Kenya Country Representative.

I am passionate about human rights, most especially the rights of women, and this comes along with extensive experience in human rights work, having served PIA in various capacities, the Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NAHRI), Amnesty International Kenya, and the Coalition on Violence Against Women among others. I am skilled in human rights research, campaigns and advocacy, community mobilization, capacity building and resource mobilization. I am keen on mobilizing groups to claim their rights, monitoring, documenting and reporting on human rights, and campaigning for policy, a shift from policy to action and practice.

In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, bake treats and travel.

I believe that local activists change the power dynamics in their communities, and that is what creates change over time, thus I look forward to working closely with human rights defenders in the region.
