Claudia joined Protection International (PI) in 2011 as Grants Manager and Programme Coordinator to build and strengthen PI’s external partnerships. She has extensive experience in organisational development, programming, international relations and project management. She is familiar with governmental and philanthropic funding mechanisms. She is passionate about women’s empowerment, quality education and a fair financial system that serves and protects civil society across the world.

Before joining PI, she worked for several years as journalist, and then worked with the German Parliament and as application reviewer with the Institute for Foreign Relationships (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen). Claudia holds degrees in geography, political science and African studies and has studied and researched in Germany, Tanzania and Sierra Leone. She regularly volunteers as poll worker for local elections.
